What’s up with everyone and these plant-based diets? I’m sure you’re wondering as much as I was not so long ago. If you’re anything like me I was incredibly skeptical. I mean how can one possibly not eat meat and survive. Would I dry up like a raisin in the sun, or fester like a sore and then run? But seriously I couldn’t begin to fathom how to venture into this lifestyle and stick to it.

I’m here to tell you its possible and honestly its one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. If it’s something you are truly serious about or even just curious I motion you to come hither my pretty and take a walk on the wild side. Start off with these few simple steps and you will be a plant-based aficionada in no time.

  1. Try giving up meat first.

Whether you stop eating red meat, only eat fish, or try a vegetarian lifestyle baby steps are key.

  1. Try implementing one plant based meal into your diet.

Maybe its once a week, a month or maybe you’re brave enough to try a new plant based recipe everyday. These small adjustments over time will make all the difference in your ability to stick with this long term.

  1. Identify what draws you to plant-based eating.

When you have a purpose or connection to something it makes it easier to stick to.

  1. Do some research and get creative.

There are so many resources out there that are great when you’re just starting out or want to spice things up. From restaurants, to interesting recipes, cookbooks, and even YouTube channels dedicated to inspiring the Vegan in you.

  1. Take the plunge.

Once you have gotten your feet wet and feel confident about this new direction I suggest doing a challenge to truly put yourself to the test. There are tons of Vegan challenges out there or you can create your own. Do what feels right for you but at the same time don’t be afraid to push past your fears.
